Easy delicious coffee!

I used this pour over coffee set a couple of times now. The set up is simple, and the instructions provided on how to prepare the coffee were pretty spot on. The only thing that seemed off to me was how much water it called for. It was more than fit in the cup. It made a delicious cup on coffee though. In addition to using the Stanley mug provided, I was also able to use the pour over part on another coffee mug that we had. The Stanley mug kept the coffee nice and hot for quite a while which was nice. The cleanup afterwards was really easy. The whole set up disassembles and reassembles really easily, making cleanup a snap. There were a tiny bit of grounds at the bottom of the mug, but I'm talking tiny. All and all I am very impressed with the ease of use and how good of coffee came out. It's a bit big for backpacking trips as the two pieces don't stack into one another, but this will be coming on all car camping trips. And maybe even to friends houses who I know don't fix good coffee. ;)

If you're the kind of person who absolutely can't stand any kind of grit in their coffee, you should probably click the back button right now. The filter in this set is not fine enough to catch the dust that is often created when using a blade grinder. (Commercial or burr grinders may produce better results.) My photo shows what you can expect with the same kind of coarse grind you'd use in a press as well as the recommended medium grind. Grit aside, the build quality is pretty nice. The edge between the enamel and steel is rough in some spots, but I expect that to wear smooth after some use. Overall, this set really doesn't have many advantages over a standard French Press except for durability. Brew time and cleanup are similar, but you will get a better cup of coffee out of the press. (Backpackers would be better served by an AeroPress or instant coffee packs due to the weight and size.)

The only coffee brewer you need for camping

The build quality is just what you expect fro Stanley. Stainless steel and insulated! This is basically the pour-over you overpay for at Starbucks or any other place. As for how much coffee grounds to put in depends on how strong you like your brew. I tend to like it on the strong side, so I fill the top part to just barely covering the slopes of the funnel. I pour water slowly to the 3rd line, and it’s perfect 👍🏼

I'm Ready for my Summer Trips

I like that there is no need for a filter in the funnel. Keep an eye on your grind and you won't have issues, which can take a few tries to get right with any pour over. The funnel is compatible with all the mugs I use on the go and at home, so if the mug in the set is dirty, you aren't high and dry. My one Con ( and reason for 4star rating) for this set is.....why the heck would you make a travel mug without a slide lock lid? This is just an open hole, which is fine, but if I plan on getting in my car from camp or even walking, it's nice to have a lid that shuts incase of bumps. Overall I can't complain, I'm happy to have it in my gear.

Amazing insulated mug and functional coffee brewer

This is one of the best purchases I've made. Ever. With hot beverages you can put the lid on the mug and keep it warm a long time even on a cold day. The pour-over part works exactly as expected and cleans up easy by shaking out the grounds and splashing a bit of water around. Gokd enoughe. I'll be using this thing 30 years from now.

Quite Good

Read other comments prior to purchase and now that I have my own, I cannot add any complaint. Purchased with camping in mind but using at home first to try it out, and coffee made per instructions was smooth and flavorful using bottled water and Aldi German Roast, Regular. Yes, there was some tiny debris, not grounds, but a slight slurry that did not offend me. The cup itself with lid on keeps coffee drinkable for an hour, even warm enough after that. Cleaning was not a problem since it breaks down into 5 components. It's new, so paint may chip in future but the coffee function and results are quite good. And the textured classic Stanley green looks mod.

3/18/25 Obtained this product. Have a store for special coffee bean grinders (M). It does take time to do it correctly; however, this product worth time. Nice product. Need really fresh coffee. Use 1/2 creamer. Really like cup lid. Recommend. Makes great gift too

Great for camping; good for home

Overall, this is a good pour over solution for camping or even regular home use. The size allows a single pour of hot water and the insulated cup keeps things hot during and after the process. The filter connection stays liquid tight, forcing water through the filter in the right places. The one issue that doesn’t get it to 5 stars is the filter itself. It’s NOT as good as a paper filter. Fines end up in the coffee and, even grinding at large settings in my burr grinder, it slows considerably during the end of the drip. Definitely useable and makes decent cup of coffee but not on par with a Kalita or December, my normal home use pour over rigs.

Stanley Quality, One Design Flaw

The classic Stanley look and quality are fantastic. The design of the pour over portion is well done. The pieces come apart easily for cleaning and are sturdy. It makes a great cup of coffee! It is extremely convenient for making coffee while camping or traveling. The one major flaw with the set is the mug, particularly the handle. Without the handle, the cup could fit inside of the pour over portion for easy storage and compact packing, saving space. Our intended usage of this is for camping and so space-saving is important. The lid on the mug is not great either. It creates an airlock if the cup is anywhere close to full. The mug itself is nice and matches our Stanley thermos so may be used outside of this set. But, it seems this is intended for travel and camping and would be amazing if it was designed to pack up neatly together.
