Q: How do you separate the shelves that were packaged one inside of the other. They are stuck together and I cannot get them apart.

A: Mine came fused together too. I finally reached customer service by phone who could not understand the problem. Really frustrating!

I took the handle of a hammer and struck the corners and the middle a few times rotating the shelves until they started to loosen up. Believe me I wanted to throw them at a wall since I finally came up with this solution 40 minutes in.

Q: what type and size screws were used for this cart?

A: The screws have a flat tip (instead of pointed) and are only half of an inch long. The diameter of twisty part is .5 centimeters. Diamter of the top of the screw is 1.5 centimeters.

To get the trays apart, you’ll have to pull/tug at eat corner until they wiggle free. Also, both part A pieces are between trays 1 & 2 and then 2 & 3. If you can get the trays apart, this cart is functional! I bought one in black for my house and one in white for my mom’s house to put my baby’s toiletries, medicines, toys, etc. I took two stars away—because of the way they packed everything so tightly in the box and the other because of the amount of confusion it took to put the cart together.

I have purchased 2 carts similar to this one, all from target specifically, for my salon. It blends super well with our decor and is an easy and cost effective way to store a ton of products. Each of the "handles" has a defective lock in tabs. There are 2 on each handle and each has 1 that is defective. I tried to mcguiver with no sucess. The cart is basically garbage without this assembly mechanisms workin properly. Very disappointed at such poor quality control. Also agree with other that it is very hard to separate bins from each other. Took me a whole day of attempts.

As others said you can’t get the bins apart, I hired a guy to help me but he was unable to get it apart and now I can’t even return it because I am undergoing medical treatment and can’t go to the store. Unless I want to hire somebody again, but then I’ll be paying about the same I have already paid. Come on Target!

This cart is really cute and perfect for what I need. BUT the way they have this packaged is crazy. If you are looking at the reviews, you will see tons of people talking about how the metal trays are stacked inside themselves. I read a bunch of people say they couldn't even get them apart. I spent about 15 minutes trying to to get mine apart and I did manage to do it but it wasn't pleasant, you can't really get a good feeling grip and it would hurt my fingers. If I hadn't gotten it apart in another 5 minutes, I was going to return it. So in the end, I am glad they eventually came apart because I really wanted this but the packaging truly needs to be different and I wouldn't recommend this until they change that. And honestly I'm not really sure it's worth $40. I got it on sale for $30 which is the most I would pay for it if I chose to get a second one.

Can't assemble the cart because all 3 bins are fused together as if they got hot and got jammed inside one another. No way to get any assistance. Probably would have been a great cart if it could be assembled.

These carts are amazing! Great price point especially during a sale. They are perfect for organizing my baby's books and toys in the living room and great for storing pumping supplies in the nursery. The top fits the smaller Parker Baby felt diaper caddy nicely. I like that there are accessories that you can purchase separately to add even more storage space. Assembly was straightforward and took me about 20 minutes to put together. It's nice that the tools are included. The hardest part was pulling the shelves apart from how it was packaged--the larger utility cart did not seem to have this problem. One thing to note during assembly is that the two of the wheels have a braking mechanism while the other two do not. Lastly, one of the carts arrived with a dent which was inconvenient but customer service was able to provide an exchange.
