I could not believe the lack of protection in the box for a 13.69 pound dutch oven.Having owned Le Cresuet and Staub dutch ovens this looked to be as good if not better in both quality and design.Will try to order a replacement.

    After much research and owning other cast iron and carbon steel pans, this Dutch oven is perfect. I use it daily. From making homemade yogurt, to browning beef for a shepherd’s pie, and baking sourdough bread, it’s my favorite by far. And it is the perfect size for the 2 of us or the 7 when the kids are home. I only wish it was a little bit lighter. But all cast iron is heavy. It is also very easy to clean. Money well invested.

    Firstly, I really appreciate that this Dutch Oven is made in France. I go out of my way to support companies who choose to manufacture domestically and in Europe, a region with one of the most stringent worker, material, and environmental safety standards.

    Made In, as their name suggests, cares about where their products are manufactured. With the world’s finest chefs as product development partners, Made In products are designed to perform and crafted to last."

    I cook exclusively from scratch for my family and spend a lot of time in the kitchen. So, my cookware needs to be up to the task. I now have a few items from Made In and have been happy with all of them. This Dutch Oven is the same great quality that I have come to expect from the brand.

    This Dutch Oven is made of heavy and sturdy cast iron. The enamel coating adds durability and functionality. I chose the "Red" color and it's a very fun pop of color. The handles and lid are easy to grip with pot holders. This is very well built - a true heritage piece!

    The 5.5 quart size is great for cooking or baking a variety of dishes, it's become a true workhorse in my kitchen. I have used it to bake fresh sourdough bread and also make stews and roasts. It has excellent functionality!

    I am thrilled with this 5.5 QT Dutch Oven from Made In. It has excellent performance and is a joy to use! I fully expect it to last a lifetime.
