Expensive for the qualitySagarAnother one of the impulse buys, which in hindsight doesn’t add up in terms of what we got for the money. The wicker looks good, but isn’t especially tightly woven. At this price I’d expect top notch hard weave. There were a couple loose ends poking out. Again, that’s ok on cheaper options but should be avoided at this price point. I believe we could have found better quality options elsewhere, at a lower price.2

These are some of my favourite plant pots at IKEA. I’ve got 3 from this line now and hope they don’t discontinue it - adds a great bit of warmth to a room and holds up well over time.

What is rattan?

Rattan is a strong yet lightweight and flexible material made from the rattan plant’s stem. It can be used both whole and split into thinner materials that are braided into things like furniture and baskets. Rattan belongs to the palm family and climbs along trees, though no trees are required to be felled when the rattan cane is harvested. Since it is a natural material and the products are often handmade by skilled craftspeople, each object gets a completely unique look.
