Upland sofaMarshaNice sofa! I needed a sofa for my front room that would compliment my aesthetic and fit into my budget- upland answered the call. Easy to set up and I imagine over time the cushions will take on a more relaxed/ “shabby chic “ look4
Uncomfortable ElizabethUnfortunately, this sofa does not live up to the description of “extra soft” cushions. They are extremely hard and while they may soften a bit with time, I don’t think it’s enough to make it worth it. The overall look is nice though.3
Very nice and comfortable FranciscoThis is one of the most comfortable sofas I have, was a recommendation from one of my friends and was not wrong, ❤️4
Love the uppland sofa!MichelleBought the sofa with the white canvas slipcovers and used taskrabbit to put it together. Am so pleased, wish I had bought this sooner! Don't know why anyone would complain about the seat height or anything dimension wise about the sofa, it's so much better than most of IKEAs furniture which seems to be made for children. I'm 5'8" and actually prefer even higher seat height and more seat depth, like my Rowe furniture of the past, but didn't want to invest in Rowe right now. Anyway, this sofa is comfortable enough to nap in and it's extremely comfortable, striking a very good balance between soft and supportive. The top of the ottoman could be softer though, but honestly that is no big deal. am simply amazed by any negative reviews on this sofa, I ordered DESPITE reading the reviews, because of the higher seat height and deeper seating.
Wasn't looking for a formal sofa (which should also not have a low seat height) wanted casual and comfortable and got it! Thank you IKEA!5
Upland for the win!ShariWe have looked at couches for a long time. We are so happy with the quality of the Uppland Couch and also the versatility of changing slipcovers for the seasons. The price is really the best compared to many other furniture companies. IKEA for the win with this sofa!5
Love itGailIt’s better than expected 5
A year reviewTinaIt's little over a year. The cover has held up ok. There's a small rip to one of the front vents. The cover itself never softened through repeated washings but it also never lost its shape, same with the pillow cases. The seat pillows have held up well. The back cushion need additional dense weight foam cut to size then wrapped with batting to restore the shape. Note- the back cushions never really fully "inflated" from the beginning. Overall, it's a sturdy sofa. I would just like it to hold it's shape better for only being a year old. I'd also love for there to be more options of fabrics and colors for this sofa. Being slipcovered, I'd love to be able to change out for seasons and reasons. 3
LoveNickkyFits perfect in my space . Couch was alittle hard but it’s settling nicely. 5
Improved on softness !KarenI purchased this same couch 4 years ago. We liked it and decided to purchase another one. We were pleasantly surprised that the new one improved the softness in the cushions.5
Perfection’JaneyLove it! Firm, yet comfortable. Looks great. No problems putting it together. Excellent quality. Great price. Just wish the ottoman was available. Just buy it! You’ll find nothing to compare. 5
Great sofa!!Anonymous reviewerI went and sat on virtually every sofa at IKEA and this was the clear winner. I wanted something comfy but easy to get in and out of (most of my friends are seniors). I ordered the blue cover. I am a 77 year old woman and it took me under two hours start to finish to get from delivery to completed assembled and covered. The hardest part was wrestling it out of the box by myself. Very pleased with the result and visitors so far are loving it! I have to say I have bought a lot of things from IKEA over the years and am always amazed at how well the hold up to use and abuse. This looks like another win!!5
new couchShannonCouch is very sturdy and the fabric is soft and wipes easily, I am short and the legs were very tall so we had to get new one's but if your tall that won't be a problem5
Bring back the Ektorp!JenniferI have two Ektorp sofas that over 10 years old! I still love them. When we moved into a larger home, I need additional sofas for another room so I purchased the uppland. It has been a disappointment. The bach cushions are not hold up at all. It is deeper than the Ektorp which makes it not as comfortable to sit on because my legs are too short. 1
SO UNCOMFYAnonymous reviewerFor some reason we sold our Finnala sectional for the classic look of the Uppland. That’s all it’s good for… to LOOK at. Very uncomfortable and short. We desperately miss our Finnala. 2
Not soft what so everLamisIt looks good but advertising it as soft is a straight up lie. It's very firm, and yes durable, but it's a nightmare to nap in due to it's firmness. 3
Great BuyAnonymous reviewerJust purchased a upland sofa in white. Easy to assemble. Attractive sofa. Very comfortable. I need to scotchguard it. The white gets dirty really quickly. 5
Upland SofaAmyI purchased the Upland from ebay. I had purchased the Ektorp twelve yrs ago from ikea and I loved it but the back pillows were beginning to deteriorate. Ikea advertised the upland as an upgrade to the ektorp and it looked good so I figured it would be better. What a mistake. It is horrible. It's hard, way to high from the floor, the design is just weird. Why would they change a perfect sofa and turn it into something so inferior? They must be trying to cut costs. I am looking for another sofa elsewhere.1
Upland review SusanI’m replacing a pottery barn couch that looks very similar. The cost of a new slipcover for that couch was over $2000. My new ikea couch looks almost the same. It’s back is higher which I like because it makes it more comfortable and it covers the back side of the furniture piece that is behind. 5
Terrible after testing in the store!SusanMy husband and I went to ikea to try out couches. and sat on this model couch before purchase, in the store my feet could touch the floor, when delivered my feet were a foot off the floor, so I looked like a child while funny, very uncomfortable. A ridiculous shape and size. We kept the couch for two days waiting for the return and I started getting nerve pain in the backs of both my legs. We returned the same day it arrived.
So if 5'3 or under I would test it first and check what legs they have on the couch in the store! Also my husband is 6'1 found the couch too big and hard to get out of. Absurd design. 1
Disappointed Barbara. Just purchased the Uppland sofa, loveseat and chair, it is like sitting on a rock. And all the fabrics are scratchy and itchy. I have tried 3 different covers. The slip covers must be made out of all synthetic fabrics. They are prickly and Feels hot to sit on. I think the cushions must be made out of some sort of recycled plastic. The sofa is HARD, ITCHY,
{ feels like sitting on fiberglass} and HOT. Very disappointed. The slipcovers all feel like prickly hot synthetic plastic . 1
