Containers too small & narrow to mix sourdough starter in jar. Screw on lid does provide sufficient venting.

Ugh.
This does NOT contain an actual sourdough starter. It is just some expensive jars and the directions are absolutely indecipherable. Very small pictogram instructions. Would perhaps better if instructions were written in full-sentence English and punctuated as needed. The directions as presented are useless. Do not buy.

Wide mouthed jars, easy to use
I use these jars all the time for my sourdough starter. I don't usually mark the height of the starter anymore because my starter is very active but the bands were very useful in the beginning.
