Q: Can I use the solo fuel cans in the fire pit
A: Hello! No, we do not recommend using the fuel cans inside of the Bonfire fire pit because the grate is domed so it’s not stable. It also won't put out much warmth doing so. Logs or pellets are best. The fuel cans are geared to our smaller tabletop fire pits.

Q: Does this come with the stand ring that goes under the outside of the Solo?
A: Hello! This particular one is just the fire pit by itself. Does not include the stand.

Q: Can this be inserted into a brick fire pit?
A: Yes, you can place the Bonfire in an existing brick fire pit. Just 3 or more inches of space around the exterior wall of the Solo Stove and any ring or surround will give plenty of airflow to your fire so you can keep creating good moments.

Q: Can this safely be used on a covered patio?
A: When choosing an area to enjoy your nightly wind-down, we recommend giving at least 15-20 feet of clearance between your fire pit and any coverings above it. We also recommend keeping at least 6 feet between your fire pit and any large structure-- like your house, railings, or trees. Considering safety is important, but so is giving thought to your peace of mind. Heat sensitive or easily tarnished materials may require additional clearance to maintain a clean finish. Crafting a safe space now will let you focus on what’s important later.

Q: Can you put it directly on the grass? Will it burn the grass?
A: Using the fire pit with the Stand lifts the fire pit 2.75" off the ground and the Stand minimizes heat transfer to the surface below. If the fire pit has been left for an extended amount of time with the grass not being exposed to sunlight, it will cause the grass to die/discolor in that area. We recommend using a Stand when placing your fire pit on grass to provide enough space around the fire pit’s lower vent holes and to protect the health of your lawn. If your grass is tall and/or thick, it is possible your grass will still die even if using the Stand with your Solo Stove.

Q: Will the bottom of the fire pit leave a burn mark on the wood deck or trex decking?
A: If using your fire pit on a wood or trex deck we recommend purchasing the Bonfire Stand that goes underneath the fire pit. When paired with the Stand, you can use our fire pits on a wooden deck safely. The very bottom rim of your Solo Stove is actually the coolest part of the unit, so a little insulation between your Solo and the surface it will rest on goes a long way. You can find more information on the Stand and the surfaces it can be placed on here: https://blog.solostove.com/when-to-use-a-fire-pit-stand/ We also offer a spark arresting shield for extra protection against popping embers that might find their way in places they don’t belong. Using the fire pit with the Stand lifts the fire pit 2.75" off the ground and the Stand minimizes heat transfer to the surface below.

Q: Can I use any kind of wood?
A: The perfect smokeless flame requires quality, dry fuel. Kiln-dried hardwoods such as oak, or maple have a low moisture content, so they’ll burn at a higher temperature and give your flames a smooth secondary burn effect.
