Wait A Sec® (A play on the French word “sec,” meaning “dry”) is a science-backed powder dry shampoo that adds volume and includes our clinically efficacious peptide combined with antioxidants to preserve and stimulate pigment without leaving a white residue.

DESCRIPTION

Our gentle non-aerosol powder dry shampoo adds volume and refreshes hair without leaving hair feeling weighed down. Wait A Sec is formulated for all hair types with a subtle tint that won't leave a white residue, and includes our signature all-natural fragrance of cedar and sage to help even lived-in hair smell refreshed.

USAGE

Shake well and apply to dry hair and scalp in sections, holding the bottle about 1-2” from the head. Use fingertips to distribute amongst scalp and hair.

Opting in to Auto-Replenish is the best way to maintain lasting results. One bottle of Wait A Sec typically lasts around three months. If you use 5 pumps a day or less, we'd recommend a 90-day frequency. If using more than 5 pumps a day, we would recommend a 60-day frequency.

How to Apply

    My favorite dry shampoo

    I am somewhat new to regular use of dry shampoo, so this is the fourth dry shampoo that I have tried (the other three being aerosol type ones). I really prefer the one from Arey. Firstly, I really like the small package (good for travel and storage) and the fact that it is powder. It is easier to use because it is meant to be held close to where it is to be sprayed and therefore allows for a more precise application than an aerosol type dry shampoo. I also don't feel like I am breathing in dry shampoo "fumes" as the application of the powder formula is more contained. The second reason I prefer it is that it works really well. It leaves the hair looking much cleaner (is great at absorbing hair grease!) and the clean look lasts for two days. This extended benefit is something I have not experienced with any other dry shampoos. So, going forward, Arey's is my preferred dry shampoo product. One minor fault that I noticed is that when I sprayed it on my part, the powder stays on the scalp and is not easy to rub off or remove. It is beige-flesh-toned, so it is not super noticeable unless one is closely inspecting it in the mirror, so it is a minor thing, but I am wondering if it would be possible to tweak the formula in the future to be more transparent. For now, I just don't spray it on my part, and it still works fine and is unnoticeable. Thank you for making such a lovely product.

    Hair feels super clean

    The dry shampoo has a strange, earthy smell but keeps my hair feeling super clean all week. I only have to wash my hair 1 maybe 2 days a week. It also keeps it feeling full. I have noticed it helps to cover the grays in my part and keeps me from having to dye my roots so often.

    I like

    It's very subtle and may not soak up too oily hair, but it's good for frequent use. I like that there's no smell and skin color powder (also love that it's powder not aerosol). I also feel "cleaner" in a sense that it doesn't seem to build or irritate my scalp. The pump could be better, still getting a sense of how it pumps and doesn't pump at times.

    Best dry shampoo!

    This is the best dry shampoo I’ve tried for dark hair and oily scalps. The tinted powder rubs in seamlessly to my hair color and since it doesn’t come out like the other wet aerosol sprays it doesn’t add extra weight to my hair.
