KitchenAid Ultra Power 5-Speed Hand Mixer

This feels like a toy when you pick it up. All moving parts are cheap plastic. The only metal are the beaters, and they're so thin I feel like I could break them when I'm washing them. The beaters don't fit in to the mixer properly, you have to wiggle them and jiggle them to get them in. They don't just click in. Then when you turn it on, it's wobbly, the beaters kind of hit against each other because they're not balanced properly. And there is zero power to this thing, you turn it all the way to high and it's barely enough to do anything. I cannot believe that KitchenAid put this product on the market. It is insulting. I will be returning mine. The Cuisinart one isn't much better I bought that and it was a little better but bad enough to return it. This one is a joke. So this one's getting returned and today I gave up, I went to my local thrift stores and found like a 40-year-old Hamilton Beach mixer. It's a tank and it's awesome and it'll probably last me till I'm dead. It was $3.

The speed is nowhere near what I expected and is lacking. Even a ‘boost’ button would be helpful. I love that the sound of the motor isn’t obnoxiously loud, the ease of use etc. The lack of speed is what really gets me.

Larger mixtures seem to slow the speed & feels like the mechanics struggle. Tbh I expected a more sturdy appliance, like the stand mixers, which are made mostly of metal, not plastic.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new hand mixer! It's lightweight and very quiet and comes in my favorite color. At a high speed its still quiet compared to other mixers. It's great because I like baking at night when I'm least likely to be distracted.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The beaters are a little too short for my standard size mixing bowls. I have to be careful not to get the mixer caught on the edge of the bowl.

This is my third time buying this same mixer, and I don't know why some features were changed. The beaters are slightly different, and while the cord was changed to move out of the way that update was rendered useless by changing the shape of the back of the mixer so that it doesn't sit flat on the counter next to the bowl, it constantly tips back when I set it down.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received over the new year. I use it several times a week and love it. Works wonderfully! All 5-speeds work as they should. The cord has a function that snaps right, left or in the center depending on where your plug in is. Seems to have a really strong motor and isn't a wimp. I have used it from low to high, with thin and thicker foods and works just as well for everything I have tried it with. I think this hand mixer will last me for years!
