Q: What is the maximum temperature the pitcher can handle? Can it safely accept boiling water or hot coffee in the pitcher without it shattering? Thanks.

submitted by Elliott - 16 days ago
  • A: The LifeStraw 7-Cup Glass Pitcher is made from durable borosilicate glass, which is more resistant to thermal shock than regular glass. However, LifeStraw advises against exposing the pitcher to extreme temperatures. Specifically, it should not be used with liquids hotter than 140°F (60°C) or colder than 33°F (1°C) . Pouring boiling water or hot coffee directly into the pitcher could damage the glass or compromise the filter components.

Q: Can it be left on the counter? Won't fit in fridge. If it can be left on counter should the filter be changed more often? Does sitting on counter increase the chance of mold or mildew growing?

submitted by No - 17 days ago
  • A: Yes, the LifeStraw 7-Cup Glass Pitcher can absolutely be left on the counter if it doesn’t fit in your fridge. Leaving it at room temperature will not impact the lifespan of the filter, and there’s no need to change the filter more frequently. Just be sure to clean the pitcher regularly (we recommend every few days) to prevent any potential buildup of mold or mildew—especially in warmer or more humid environments.

Q: Can it go in the dishwasher? Thanks!

submitted by Hollywood - 2 months ago
  • A: That's a great question! The borosilicate glass pitcher is dishwasher safe. However, we recommend hand-washing the silicone gaskets and plastic parts (such as the lid and housing) to preserve their flexibility and integrity. High heat and dishwasher detergents could wear down these materials over time.

Q: What material is the filter housing that holds the filter and sits in the water made of?

submitted by Nope - 2 months ago
  • A: Thanks for reaching out! The filter housing is made from durable, BPA Free plastic.

Q: Does it filter fluoride?

submitted by Jessica Aden - 2 months ago
  • A: Hi Jessica, The LifeStraw products are designed to remove contaminants such as bacteria, parasites, microplastics, heavy metals (including lead), PFAS, and more depending upon the specific filter. However, it does not remove fluoride, as our focus is on reducing harmful contaminants while retaining essential minerals. Let us know if we can be of any additional assistance!

Q: What are the name/s of the filter/filters and how often must they be replaced?

submitted by redeyedrabitt - 4 months ago
  • A: That's a great question! The membrane microfilter lasts 264 gallons (1 year). The activated carbon + ion exchange filter lasts 40 gallons (2 months).

I’ve been enjoying my new water pitcher! Took only a few minutes to clean and assemble and have been enjoying delicious, filtered water since. I can already taste a difference in the water, too!

Got this for a road trip to a vacation spot where the water always upsets my stomach. First trip there in years where the water tasted great and didn’t irritate my insides. Did exactly what I needed it to do and I felt better using this water to fill the kids’ water bottles too.

I Think My Expectations Were Set Too High

My water still taste kinda funny and for the price of your products I expected more. My Brita makes the water taste better for half your price. Also, the price to replace the filters is very high. It is also very long and odd shaped. It will not fit in my refrigerator unless I remove an entire shelf. Maybe my expectations of Lifestraw were just too high. I need to lower the bar!

Absolutely Love It. We bought a second one. We also bought a year’s worth of filters. We’re all in. We would like to hear more about your independent water analysis.

The quality and taste of water that is produced by this water filter Is amazing. The decanter holds a large quantity of water. The only negative is the refill time is a little lengthy, but worth it.

The water tastes so much better than bottled or unfiltered water. I am happy to use my glass bottle filter. I have a problem with the design , though, as I could not fit my hand inside the opening to change the filter. I need to get someone else to help me. It would be preferable to easily fit my hand inside. .

I love the taste of the water from the glass pitcher. I live in a very old building in NYC so worry about contaminants from old pipes and I feel better about drinking the water now. One downside is that the filter is a little slow, but the instructions say it works faster after a few uses. So hopefully that’s true.

Really lovely carafe. Water seems very, very pure. You must be patient to have it filter through, but that's because the filter is doing its job. Makes you respect how precious pure water really is.

Nice appearance. Water tastes okay. Problem is it takes about 45 minutes to filter 8-10 oz of water. At first I thought it was because the unit/filter was new, but after a week of watching the water s l o w l y drip from the filter I realized this was as fast as it was going to get. To get an entire pitcher full, plan on being nearby so you can refill the filter every 40 minutes or so.

I have filled 24 16 oz bottles of Zephyrhills water and life straw has already just dropping water at very low pace. At this pace of getting a bottle of water will be all night and cost a bundle for filters. I don’t know which filter would need replaced…the core filter or filter you screw in.

Glass container good; Straw too many set up steps

I really like the glass container. The process was fairly easy to get it set up. The actual straw however has WAY too many steps before it can be used. It would be beneficial for the actual straw to have most of those steps handled BEFORE the client receives it.

Best Looking Water Pitcher & Works Great

Works well. Looks great. Doesn’t spill out water like the Epic pitcher. When completely full, feel like the glass handle might not be strong enough; so I support the base just in case. It’s too tall for our fridge; so we leave it on the counter which is fine.
