Q: I opened the jar and it looked dry like beeswax and it had a crack in it. Is it suppose to melt to a butter consistency after applying or is it suppose to look like a balm? There wasn't a seal either.

A: Correct, once you warm some of the balm up between your fingers before application it will be buttery smooth and highly moisturizing! That crack you see is very normal for Earth Mama balms, a natural result of the salves cooling in the jar after the pour. There is no other seal either; Organic Nipple Butter leaves the Earth Mama facility in a jar with a lid and in a box. Hope this helps ease your mind!

Bought this a month ago when I started breastfeeding. I like the texture and really helped sore nipple. When done using, you can use for cracked lips. I just hope they also provide a spatula of some kind, I use a small spoon because I don’t want to dip my finger in there for hygienic purposes as well.

This was honestly a lifesaver post-partum. I applied it constantly after and even between feeds after my baby was born. I'm 5 months out and baby's teething so I'm back to using it on occasion. Don't forget to pack it in your hospital bag.

I can’t say enough great things about this product. Best nipple butter I’ve tried and I have breastfed 3 babies and tried many nipple balms and creams. Moisturizing and was a huge help with cracked and bleeding nipples and it’s a huge plus that you don’t have to wipe this balm off before nursing, it’s completely safe for baby. The jar lasts a long time and goes a long way. Definitely worth every penny!

My mom tells stories of her dry cracked bleeding nipples while breastfeeding back in the early 90s, I’m so glad I can avoid that with this nipple butter right here! This got me through my first experience breastfeeding with my now 6 month old son. I love that it’s safe to breastfeed after using this product. I would apply this after every feed and my nipples would always bounce back if they ever started getting cracked, dry, or sore. Not only is it great for me, but I actually prefer this to the diaper balm for my son. He has sensitive skin and this moisturizer is one of the only things that has helped whenever he gets a rash or super dry skin. Highly recommend!
