A statementHeatherThis lamp is one of my favourite purchases from IKEA. Paired with a colour-changing LED light, this lamp has become a wonderful statement piece in my office.
Pretty Lamp but breaks easilyLauraI love this lamp but unfortunately, within a few months, it has broken. It lightly tapped a wall adjacent to the table it was on and many pieces were cracked off. If purchasing, make sure it’s out of the way and can’t be knocked. Would love the option of being able to replace just the globe.

Fadooo TaylerToday my precious Fado lamp was knocked off it's perch, onto the floor by my little corgi Winston. It hit the floor and shattered both the glass, and with it, my heart. Sad day for us all. I have forgiven Winston for his betrayal, and tomorrow I will go buy a new Fado lamp at IKEA because it is the ultimate lighting fixture. All hail Fado. ALL HAIL FADO!
Beautiful but fragile AlessandraI like the simple design and the light this fixture provides. I bought it for my son's bedroom.
My issue with it is that the fixture is very unstable. It does not sit on the table very steady.
The weight of the glass is not enough to give stability to the fixture. The base is a super light weight plastic and does not help to keep the fixture stable. The wire keeps the fixture a bit lifted and with all this together, a little touch and it will fall and break.
I basically had to hold the fixture to turn it on and off.
Something to review on the design of the product.

What is glass?
Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
